A young woman walked into Hope Women's Clinic unsure of what to do. She had a later appointment at an abortion clinic but felt something urging her to choose our clinic instead. Little did she know, this decision would change the course of her life—and her baby’s life.
When she arrived, she shared that she was confused. She had been in a relationship with a married man for just two months. He didn’t want the baby, saying it would complicate his life with his wife. She was struggling with the weight of the decision.
As our staff member talked with her, she asked if they had been using protection. The young woman said no. Our staff member explained that both she and her partner were responsible for the pregnancy, but ultimately, the consequences of an abortion would fall on her. She admitted she was uncertain about what to do next.
When asked if she could see a future with this man, she said, “No.” She didn’t even like him anymore and knew she was responsible for what had happened. But when asked, "What fault does this baby have?" she said, “None.”
It was clear she was in turmoil, but there was a spark of truth in her—that her child was for life. She was given the space to consider her options and was offered more than just a conversation; she was offered HOPE.
Our staff member explained the services we provide, including counseling, support, and classes for mothers facing unplanned pregnancies. The goal was to empower her to make the best decision for herself and her baby.
She admitted that she was uneasy about her appointment at the abortion clinic, and when she received a call from them while at our clinic, she chose to cancel. It was a turning point.
Her decision to come to Hope Women's Clinic was influenced by the conversations she’d had with a friend, who had warned her about the realities of abortion. The compassion and care she received here ultimately helped her choose life.
Our staff took the time to explain abortion procedures and potential risks, but the decision was hers. She said she didn’t want to go through with an abortion and, though unsure about her relationship, she knew she could be a mother to her child. Having raised two daughters alone, she is confident she can do it again.
That day, she left the clinic feeling at peace, with a renewed sense of hope for the future. She made an appointment for a sonogram, and just days later, she returned, fully committed to choosing life.
This is just one beautiful story of so many, and it’s a powerful reminder of the importance of providing support and care for women facing unplanned pregnancies. Every life matters. Thanks to God’s grace, this young woman found the strength to choose life—and a future filled with HOPE for her and her baby.
God is good!
